More about this package

Pack your sense of adventure and immerse yourself in Tasmania’s ancient forests for an unforgettable adventure.

  • Derby’s ‘hero dirt’ is the tactile terrain bikers dream of, looped around a natural bowl created by the gods of mountain biking. All trails lead to Derby – literally. Since opening in 2017, Derby has hosted the Enduro World Series multiple times, and UCI in April 2023.

There’s something for everyone, with over 125 kilometres of trail. Hazy Days is a rolling warm-up, or get stuck straight into boulders, berms and descents on Flickity Sticks.

An hour to the east of Derby is the equally renowned Blue Tier, and peaceful, mesmerising trails through the myrtle forest, including the iconic 42km wilderness trail, Bay of Fires, concluding at Swimcart Beach. Make sure you take your swimmers with you for a refreshing dip after the ride!

  • Tasmanian weather is highly unpredictable, so pack for all seasons. You will need appropriate riding gear, wet weather gear and casual wear for the times you’re not on the trails.

See our Pack List for details.

  • Payment

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance will then be invoiced to you with final payment due 30 days prior to departure.

Credit cards are accepted, but a surcharge is added.

    Bike Hire

Our hire e-bikes consist of Trek and Norco, each fitted with flat pedals and complementary helmet. Please provide accurate weight and height measurements for bike size and suspension set up. If any measurements have been guessed, please take the time to record these accurately and resubmit to us via bookings@gointothewild.com.au. An Into The Wild staff member will also double check these ahead of time.

You are welcome to bring your own helmet.

    Waiver of Liability

Mountain biking does involve a level of risk. All riders will be required to sign a Waiver of Liability prior to commencing your tour.

    Insurance

We highly recommend travel insurance to cover any unexpected delays, lost luggage, interruptions or medical treatments.
